Bodycare: A Step-by-Step Routine

A daily body care routine to prevent skin irritation, dryness and promote skin health.

  1. Apply Jojoba Oil

Applying jojoba oil before showering can protect skin lipids from hot water and cleansing. Let the oil absorb for a few minutes. Please take care as too much oil can become slippery in the shower. Lay down a hand towel in the shower if needed.

  2. Wash & Pat Dry

For dry or irritated skin, use warm, not hot water and a gentle body wash that is fragrance-free, pH balanced and doesn’t produce alot of foam.

  3. Thermal Water Mist

  4. This step is optional but very beneficial. Naturally occurring minerals in a thermal water mist like La Roche Posay Thermal Water or Vichy Mineral Water Spray soothes and alleviates dry, irritated skin.

  5. Moisturize

Lock in moisture with a rich lotion while skin is slightly damp.

  6. Reapply Jojoba Oil

This step is optional but very beneficial. The fatty acids in jojoba oil promotes barrier repair for dry irritated skin.

  7. Protect with Mineral SPF 30+

Your skin can be much more susceptible to UV damage from the sun during cancer treatment. Apply a mineral SPF to exposed skin daily. Reapply when going outside. Although mineral/physical sunscreens can sometimes feel thick and give a white cast, many chemical sunscreen ingredients can be irritating to sensitive skin and toxic to health.
